Hitech Pulse-Eight confirm Will Macintyre in the 2024 GB3 Championship

Will Macintyre confirmed for the 2024 GB3 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight

Hitech Pulse-Eight have confirmed that its British F4 runner-up, Will Macintyre, will graduate to the GB3 Championship with the team in 2024.

Starting his racing career in karts in 2018, the British driver has acquired several accolades over the years, including being the only Briton to have ever won the 2019 Italian Championship title in the 60 Mini category, IAME Nations Cup Champion and Vice Champion in the WSK Euro Series. He also finished third in the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy and third in the IAME Winter Cup in 2021.

Macintyre then made the step up to car racing during the latter end of 2021 in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series, before contesting a full campaign in 2022. His front-running performance in the series saw him finish second overall in his maiden season, racking up six race wins, and 15 podiums. He also clinched the Rookie title in what was an outstanding season for the young driver.

In 2023, Macintyre stepped up to British F4 with Hitech, securing two wins with fourteen podiums, and went on to finish second overall and the only challenger to the title by a single point up to the final round as Vice British Champion.

Later on in the year, he was announced as one of the ten finalists for the annual Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Award and has been recognised with the BRDC Rising Star accolade.

William Macintyre:

“GB3 is the logical next step for my second season in single-seaters,” said Macintyre of his graduation to the series. “I went into my maiden British F4 season hoping for a top-five finish as part of a two-year plan. To have been one of only two drivers able to win the title in the last race was therefore a huge achievement and Hitech played a huge part in my development in 2023.

“I really enjoy working with the team and can’t wait to begin with them on this step-up earlier than planned. There are new tracks and a new car to learn which is great, and despite the competition level, I hope that I can be challenging for podiums and wins again in 2024. I’d like to give a big thank you to my sponsors and Hitech Pulse-Eight and hope to make the team proud again.”

Phil Blow, Hitech’s GB3 Team Manager:

“We are delighted for Will Macintyre to rejoin the team for 2024 as he makes his step up to GB3,” said Phil Blow. “Will has proved himself to be a fantastic championship contender over recent years, particularly in British F4 where he showed great maturity. With his proven track record of podiums and wins, we are confident we can achieve strong results together in the coming year.”
